The new logistics center will be the second Amazon site in Thuringia, besides the distribution center in Erfurt; which opened in 2019 and currently employs 500 people. The investment is a further expansion of Amazon's German logistics network to meet growing customer demand and broaden its product selection. In addition, Amazon supports a growing number of German companies that sell on Amazon, using warehousing and delivery via "fulfillment by amazon."
In the framework of the "Climate Pledge", the voluntary commitment to be CO2 neutral by 2040, the logistics center in Gera integrates the latest environmental standards in terms of energy efficiency and the responsible use of resources. The site has also applied for gold certification from the DGNB, the German Sustainable Building Council.
The search for qualified and committed specialists begins immediately, especially for human resources, security and IT.
