The ‘Reformation Portal’, one of central Germany’s largest digital archives, has been offering fresh online insights into the Reformation era since November 2014. More than 35,000 historical documents were preserved digitally and curated by experts for the portal, a joint project of the states of Thuringia, Hesse and Saxony-Anhalt. In the run-up to the anniversary of the Reformation in 2017, it is a real treasure trove for interested amateurs and professional researchers and writers. In just a few clicks, they can travel back in time and see how the spiritual renewal movement unfolded between 1517 and 1648. (gro)
