The healthcare sector is one of the fastest-growing and labor-intensive industries in Thuringia, and encompasses fields such as medical technology, biotechnology, and pharma.
These are the fields in which medways e.V. is active, an industry association of leading German research institutions, industrial companies, and universities, based in Jena. The association aims to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic processes for illnesses, as well as medical technology products suitable for the global market. As such, medways advises companies on medical product certification, establishing quality management systems, and market launches.
The close cooperation between businesses and research is part of the recipe for success for developing Thuringia’s economy.
