By way of example, the work on the expansion of the “Kiebitzhöhe” industrial area in Kölleda in central Thuringia is running at full speed. Fully developed spaces will shortly be available here for all companies that want to establish in the direct vicinity of the Daimler subsidiary MDC. Moreover, the LEG is expanding industrial spaces in Eisfeld/South Thuringia as well as marketing the already developed fourth construction phase at the “Kyffhäuserhütte” location in Artern.
As part of a comprehensive large-area initiative by the Free State, the LEG is additionally developing areas at various locations in Thuringia for companies that are interested in large contiguous areas. The latest completion was the development of the “Goldene Aue” industrial area near Nordhausen that offers space for investments on 80 hectares. In Gera in eastern Thuringia, the LEG is developing the “Cretzschwitz” area that should encompass 37 hectares of building land in the future. Likewise, as in the aforementioned areas, the largest industrial area of Thuringia, the “Erfurter Kreuz,” also includes an outstanding transportation connection with short routes to the highways.
