Thuringia is in second place after Saxony, just like last year, which makes it one of the leading lights on the German educational landscape. Using 12 fields of action and 93 indicators, the comparative study evaluates the extent to which each state in Germany reduces educational disadvantages, contributes to securing the supply of skilled workers, and strengthens economic growth.
Thuringia ranked highly in most of the 12 fields of action that were monitored. For example, education spending is a top priority, when compared with other states in Germany. It has the best working conditions, a well-developed professional development infrastructure (second place) and good results with regard to integration, vocational training, tertiary institutes and mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology (all third place).
