From 22 August to 7 September, the theater scholar and dramaturg will thrill Weimar residents and visitors alike with a very different arts festival from those of previous years. Holtzhauer and his team take the terms ‘art’, ‘festival’ and ‘Weimar’ literally and are presenting a festival with about 30 events in which all kinds of artists, originating from all kinds of places, will interact. Contemporary dance will feature just as strongly in the line-up as theatrical performances, exhibitions and concerts of classical and contemporary music. Highlights include the German premiere of the dance production ‘D’après une histoire vraie’, by Christian Rizzo and l’association fragile and ‘Ganash Versus the Third Reich’, produced by Back to Back Theatre from Australia.
